How to Save Bankrupted Detroit Some Money

It's simple. Fire the fucking dumbass police officer who arrested a reporter for simply taking a photo of someone else being arrested. Any officer that fucking stupid and ignorant about citizens' constitutional rights shouldn't have a badge.

Oh, and strip him of his pension since the already cash-strapped city might be facing a civil lawsuit. That's assuming another fucking dumbass, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Steven Rhodes, will allow a lawsuit by Wright to move forward.

The CDC should issue a health advisor for this latest breakout of stupidity.

DETROIT – A Detroit Free Press photographer on a training session was arrested while shooting video of Detroit police arresting a man.

The newspaper says Mandi Wright was held for more than six hours Thursday and, at one point, was put in the same interrogation room as the 47-year-old suspect.

No charges have been filed against Wright. The Free Press says Deputy Chief James Tolbert apologized to editors. He says there's nothing illegal about people recording video of police in public.

Wright and Free Press reporter Kathleen Gray were on a video training session when they suddenly saw officers escorting a suspect to a police car. Wright was wearing Free Press identification. There was a brief struggle, and her iPhone was confiscated.
